This is a two-day course including both lecture and lab that will focus on a scientific and systematic approach encompassing movement indicators to establish a baseline, appropriate corrective strategies, and sound movement-based treatments that will contribute to successful, pain-free, and functional outcomes. Also, learn how to assess patients using a functional approach, thereby including sleep, dietary, and mindset interventions. Although decreased pain is usually a common indicator for healing, it is, in fact, an incomplete outcome measure. Often, patients continue to exhibit movement dysfunction at the time of discharge and are at risk for further injury when returning back to life and sport. Addressing the dysfunctional movement at their root in the motor control center, where the patterns are stored, in addition to looking at the human body from a whole systems, whole body integrative approach will be the emphasis of this course so that we can truly enhance motor learning and optimize patient outcomes.
As fitness professionals, we all know breathing and postural control can be (and often is) a limiting factor in our client’s performance. From strength, to flexibility, to conditioning, deficits in either can have a detrimental impact… That’s why developing a strategy to systematically screening and correct these issues is a critical skill for all fitness professionals! This one-day course is designed to help you:
  • Recognize the importance of breathing and postural control for optimal performance in life and sport
  • Develop a better understanding of functional anatomy including the fascial system
  • Understand breathing’s role with the Autonomic Nervous System, vagal tone, and emotional regulation
  • Identify assessment methods for postural control and breathing dysfunction
  • Learn different strategies to correct these deficits
  • Integrate screening and corrective strategies into your current fitness or rehab program

As the foundation to all EBFA education, the BTS Level 1 Certification sets the foundation for advanced concepts in barefoot activation, reflexive stabilization, and Brain. Breath. Barefoot. Connections. With the foot as the only contact point between the body and the ground, this complex structure plays a critical role in the way in which our body stabilizes and reacts during dynamic movement.
In this Level 1 Certification get ready to explore how to prep the body for movement by tapping into the nervous system with barefoot science, foot to core sequencing and reflexive stability via fascial lines.
Learn concepts including:

  • Foot to core sequencing via short foot
  • The science of the somatosensory system
  • Introduction to foot and ankle anatomy and biomechanics
  • Open chain and closed chain foot assessments
  • Foot function and fascial lines
  • Barefoot before shod programming
  • plus more

Further challenge your concept of from the ground up movement and foot to core sequencing with EBFA’s Level 2 Certification. From heel strike to push-off, our foot dictates the way our body responds and reacts to every closed chain movement including walking, squatting and jumping.
In this advanced Level 2 Certification you will further explore the concept of sensory science as it relates to movement efficiency and the transfer of energy during gait.  All attendees will learn the powerful assessment technique for walking and running gait.
Learn concepts including:

  • Advanced foot biomechanics including the great toe and first ray
  • Phases of the walking gait cycle
  • Walking and running gait assessment techniques
  • Innate loading response
  • The catapult effect and energy transfer
  • plus more

Thank you for hosting the workshop this past weekend. Your instruction was incredible and my understanding of the topic both from a detail-oriented, scientific foundation standpoint and from a big-picture standpoint is much improved. Your ability to explain the topic was superb and your energy and passion is contagious. Thank you for taking the time to answer all of my questions. I will look forward to attending more workshops with you in the future.”
