Dr. Baratta is a holistic orthopedic and pelvic floor physical therapist. She loves working with active individuals and athletes, no matter what level, to find strategies to keep them moving, function better, and be pain free in the long run. Dr. Baratta discusses various lifestyle factors with her patients that all influence pain and function. These include breathing mechanics, stressors, vagus nerve function, nutrition, sleep, footwear, and posture. Her patients are her priorities, and she educates them at every opportunity to help them understand her methods and more about their bodies. She also addresses pelvic floor issues, often working with individuals who suffer from incontinence, constipation, and painful sex.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Eastern University and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Arcadia University. She has a pelvic floor Herman and Wallace level 1 certification. For ten years, she was an ACE-certified health coach, and has also been a personal trainer with a focus on powerlifting, running, classical ballet, and modern dance. Additionally, she teaches yoga and Pilates.
Dr. Baratta is a (slow) recreational runner. She enjoys hiking when she travels to new places. She also loves weightlifting and used to powerlift and dance. London is her favorite city, and she’s obsessed with America’s national parks. Dr. Baratta has been to Zion, Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, Sequoia, Acadia, Big Bend, Channel Islands, Kings Canyon, and Shenandoah—and she can’t wait to explore more!
Dr. Baratta’s favorite quote is: “In every walk with Nature one receives far more than he seeks.” – John Muir.
